Mooneen Mourad has created art in many forms from the time she was a child. She formalized her artistic interests with a degree in art and education from Kent State University, and a Masters from Case Western Reserve University’s Mandel School of Applied Social Sciences.
Mooneen currently creates art in a variety of media, and has recieved awards and recognition in painting, photography, ceramics, and jewelry. She works in figurative and abstract styles, creating both functional and decorative work. She is known for her sense of beauty, using design, color and texture to create art with hidden meaning. Although she does her art for herself, she appreciates how her work draws out the emotional responses in her viewers.
Mooneen’s favorite place to have lived was in Santa Barbara, California. However, she now enjoys her life in Florida and Illinois, keeping current with memberships in local art groups in all three of those places. She is represented by Off the Wheel Gallery in Egg Harbor and Marco Island, Florida, and she had a one woman show at ClaySpace in Lisle, Illinois in October of 2017. She now markets her art on social media.
